Planetarium & Regional Science Centre

A perfect venue to know more about everything that lies beyond Earth and the secrets of our vast universe

Every good city will have various entertainment avenues to cater to both its residents and tourists alike. When it comes to Kozhikode, it stretches beyond the bracket of entertainment alone. Education with entertainment is a good way to serve people as well. This is achieved through the Kozhikode Planetarium & Regional Science Centre – a perfect venue to know more about everything that lies beyond Earth and the secrets of our vast universe.

The Regional Science Centre & Planetarium was established in the year of 1997 with the aim of propagating science in Kerala, with a special focus on the Malabar belt. The planetarium has 250 seats and presents almost 1200 shows every year to people from all walks of life. The planetarium has been instrumental in imparting knowledge about various matters related to the universe, planets and our solar system. The projection from Carl Zeiss in Germany enthrals the audience and interactive exhibitions make way for a comprehensive learning routine.

The Regional Science Centre is located on the same campus and consists of science exhibition galleries, Mobile & travelling science exhibitions, an HD 3D theatre, an aquarium and an etymology section called “The Giants of Nature”. It’s indeed a must-visit location for science lovers and everyone else alike.
